Steffanie McKee is a clinical herbalist who received her Master of Science in herbal medicine from  Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2011. Committed to unearthing and maintaining ancient herbal African wisdom, Ms. McKee has journeyed to discover the secrets of ancient African culture that is unknown to many and held by keepers of this ancient medicine.  As an apprentice to Queen Afua, McKee learned a great deal about plants and healing that reached its urgency as she visited South America and learned of Ayahuasca.  This discovery placed McKee on her path to understanding the healing powers of visionary plants.  As a graduate student, McKee gave voice to the power of African herbal medicine as a vehicle of healing that was unknown to most in her graduate school.  Hence, she began her study of Tabernanthe iboga, a visionary plant spirit medicine from out of the rainforests of Gabon, in Central West Africa.  In her research, she discovered the use of iboga globally and its healing impact on addiction.  Her passionate interest and calling led her to being selected as the student commencement speaker of her class when she was called upon to speak about ancient African spirituality and its healing powers.

Post graduate school, McKee understood that studying solely in school would not be enough to fully understand the power of visionary plants, so she began an experiential study with them.

She recently undertook an 8 month road trip to Belize, Central America that led to the study of Bush medicine with an indigenous,  Garifuna healer.  On that road trip, she stopped in various places in the southern United States and Mexico, chronicling the information that African folk healers in the Americas have practiced for generations, culminating in her final stop in Belize, where she studied under an indigenous, Garifuna healer.  The journey solidified her spiritual mission to advocate for and utilize ancient, African visionary plant medicine to heal communities and the earth.

Onyx Ashanti Since being introduced on the world stage by way of a fortuitous TED talk he gave in 2011 entitled “This is Beatjazz”, Mississippi native, Onyx Ashanti, has been evolving at a pace that surprises even him. Musician, Programmer, 3d print-designer, writer, performer, inventor...a self described child of the internet, and disciple of the open source philosophy, Onyx has spent the last few years creating a multidimensional expression concept called beatjazz.

Beatjazz is “beats” and “jazz”, or more specifically. Beats are electronically derived rhythm and jazz as improvisational sonic investigation create an improvisational sonic construct for investigating rhythm, harmony and melody interactively. This is expressed as sound and performance but also as projected visualization, light color sequencing, robotic parameter feedback and CAD design-multiple dimensions of a singular expression. A hyper expression.

The next “evolution” of beatjazz will be the integration of brainwave information into its matrix of existing signals. It has already begun moving toward its “neuro” phase but Onyx wants to release the open source plans to the existing iteration, online, before jumping into this stage with both feet. The future as a programmable variable within a sonic fractal matrix. This is beatjazz.

Dimitri Mugianis. Born in Detroit, to a politically leftist Greek American family, Dimitri Mugianis began writing poetry, music, and also using drugs at a very early age. His relationship with cocaine, heroin and methadone would last over 20 years. By 2002, Dimitri had a daily habit of $150-200 worth of heroin, plus cocaine and 100 milligrams of methadone. By forty, he was surrounded by death, including his pregnant, common-law wife. Resigned that his life was nearing an end, using the last of his will to survive, Dimitri turned to a radical solution: Ibogaine. Returning home with an evangelical zeal, Dimitri sought out and met the father of the Ibogaine movement, Howard Lotsof, who quickly became his mentor. In an effort to bring the medicine that healed him to those without access, he attended to approximately 500 underground Ibogaine ceremonies and traveled to Gabon, West Africa, to become initiated into the Bwiti. This experience was the impetus for his co-founding of the Universalist Bwiti Society, a state-registered religious institution. After six visits to Gabon, Dimitri opened a center in Costa Rica, IbogaLife. In addition to his work as an Ibogaine Detox Facilitator, performing hundreds of ibogaine treatment-ceremonies with desperate people, he currently works as an outreach counselor at the New York Harm Reduction Educators (NYHRE) in Harlem.

Kamani’s Journey

Born in the Virgin Islands of Christianstead, St. Croix, Kamani Tait’s (K.T. The Arch Degree) involvement with health and nutrition has been inspirational from the start.

At the precipice of birth, mother; Annette Thomas;  faced fatal complications with extremely low iron levels. Refusing a blood transfusion, Annette reached out to Dr. Sebi who gave her Oxyhemo; a tonic increasing hemoglobin; which proved to save both their lives.

Annette soon became a wife of Sebi educating herself in the uses of herbs and all natural healing agents. Soon thereafter, Usha Herbal Research Institute; the brainchild of Thomas and Sebi; established itself as a wellness organization specializing in the research and development of African herbal healing modalities.

While growing up under the tutelage of the Usha Institute, Kamani witnessed AIDS, blindness, cancer and various other diseases healed through natural, non-pharmaceutical remedies.

At the age of five, Kamani moved to the states and met biological father, George Edward Tait Jr.; Pan-Africanist and poet laureate of Harlem. He continued to live with his father through junior high and attended Ausar Auset; a privately funded vegetarian school.

Since fifth grade, The Arch Degree, ranked immaculately in the field of science; even surpassing his peers with high school level scores on the regency exam, a test for upper class students to determine strength and weakness of study. Upon which, Kamani  associated with an after school program where he studied microbiology, biochemistry and physiology with the elder group.

After highschool, Kamani gained the opportunity to work beside one of Dr. Sebi’s most respected clients, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. He joined her creative team and contributed three tracks to her solo artist album, Super Nova. As a part of Lisa’s inner circle he again noticed the positive effects of proper nutrition and decided to delve deeper into the matter.

Following her passing and that of his brother Kamani was left questioning his life’s purpose. He decided to pick himself up and began work at a doctor’s office with life mentor, Donald G. Hooker. There he trained on high end medical equipment focused on nerve conduction, bone density, segmented pressure, ultrasound and x-rays. In his tenure of employment, The Arch Degree observed patients who sought help for pain only to become addicted to prescribed medication. Through private practice, he along with Hooker not only weaned them off prescriptions but cured them of their medical woes.

With 30 years of intense study, Kamani  Tait excels in the knowledge of alchemy, physiology, biochemistry, metaphysics and nutrition including its effects on the human body. Through constant practice and counsel, Kamani lectures at various venues throughout the Atlanta area and across the United States; spreading information on health, medicine and nutrition with the mission to take people back to nature.

Currently, Kamani is focused on providing life-changing experiences to clients and fans through proper education and application. He is also highly focused on his series Hollywood Decoded where he breaks down the metaphysics of your favorite movies. Through his decoding he has found a fresh way to connect with the youth in regards to their beliefs and their health.

Lastly, Kamani has reached the point of his career in which it is necessary to record his research for the public to see. As of September 2016 he became a published author for the book Melanocyte Manifesto along with Minister Enqi. He will also be published in another book The Secret Life of Nu-Tree-Ents: Beer & Weed, which is a breakdown of our bodies’ endocannabinoid system as well as a scientific explanation as to why hops and cannabis appeal to people of color.
